Anxiety Therapy

For many people, anxiety is not a new problem. It has been there for years, the constant low hum of worry, the difficulty switching off, the way your mind races through worst-case scenarios before you have even finished your morning coffee. You have learned to function around it. But functioning around anxiety is exhausting. And at some point, it stops being enough.

You might be experiencing

Persistent worry that is hard to turn off, even when things are objectively fine

Difficulty falling or staying asleep because your mind will not quiet

Persistent worry that is hard to turn off, even when things are objectively fine

Avoidance of situations, conversations, or decisions that feel overwhelming

Overthinking and self-doubt that slows you down

A tendency to feel responsible for things that are outside your control

Anxiety can co-exist with a high-functioning, outwardly successful life. That does not make it less real, and it does not mean you have to keep managing it alone.

How I work with people experiencing anxiety

Anxiety responds well to therapy when the right approach is used. My work with anxiety draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), one of the most evidence-based treatments for anxiety, as well as mindfulness-based techniques, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and solution-focused approaches. I adapt to what actually works for you.

Alongside the practical tools, we also look at the patterns underneath the anxiety, the beliefs, the history, the ways of relating to the world that keep it in place. For many people, this deeper work is where the lasting shift happens.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my anxiety is severe enough for therapy?

If anxiety is affecting your sleep, your ability to function at work, your relationships, or your enjoyment of daily life, it is enough for therapy. You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from professional support. Many people with high-functioning anxiety wait years before seeking help, and most say they wish they had started sooner.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) has the strongest evidence base for anxiety disorders. I also draw on mindfulness-based treatment and DBT depending on what is most helpful for each individual. The most effective approach combines practical skill-building with exploring the underlying patterns that maintain the anxiety.
