Burnout Therapy
You still get up every morning. You still do the work. But somewhere along the way, the energy that used to come naturally stopped showing up, and no matter how much you rest, it does not come back. That is not weakness. That is burnout.
You might be experiencing
Going through the motions at home or at work, but not really being there
Difficulty concentrating, making decisions, or feeling present
Physical symptoms — headaches, tension, poor sleep, lowered immunity
Feeling disconnected from work that used to matter to you
Irritability, cynicism, or emotional numbness
A creeping sense that you have lost yourself in the demands of others
If any of this sounds familiar, you are not imagining it. Burnout is not a sign that you need to try harder or push through.
How I work with adults experiencing burnout
Burnout rarely has a single cause. In my experience, it is usually the result of a longstanding disconnection between what we are doing and what actually matters to us.
Therapy for burnout is not simply stress management. We work at a deeper level — rebuilding your sense of self and identity, examining what drove you to this point, and creating the internal conditions for sustainable recovery. I draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based treatment, and solution-focused approaches depending on what you need. Stress is temporary pressure that resolves when the situation changes. Burnout is a state of chronic exhaustion, emotional, physical, and mental, that persists even after rest. The key markers are emotional detachment, cynicism, and a loss of motivation that does not recover with time off. A therapist trained in burnout can help identify which stage you are in and what recovery looks like.
